Privacy Policy

Version v2-2026-09-13 · Last updated September 13, 2026

Homeschool Platform LLC ("we," "us") provides software that homeschool organizations ("Organizations" — co-ops, microschools, PSPs, umbrella schools, and similar groups) use to run their programs. This page explains, in plain English, how we handle data when you (a parent, guardian, or student) use the platform through an Organization. Our full Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum govern if anything here differs.

Two relationships at once. Your Organization decides what information it collects from you (enrollment, attendance, grades, and so on) and is responsible for it — it is the "controller." We provide the software the Organization uses to manage that information — we are the "processor." Your Organization has its own privacy practices; ask it for details.

What we store

Through your use of the platform, we may store:

How we use it

We do not sell your data. We do not use student data for advertising. We do not use student data to train artificial intelligence models.

Who we share it with

We don't contact families

Homeschool Platform does not market to, solicit, or contact the families and students of the Organizations that use the platform. Emails you receive through the platform — such as invoices, notifications, and copies of finalized records — are sent on behalf of your Organization, even when they come from a Homeschool Platform email address or web address. The only exceptions are automated messages needed to run your account, such as password resets and sign-in or security notices. Your Organization is responsible for telling you about anything that affects your family's records, including if it stops using the platform or closes.

Children's data (COPPA)

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies to personal information collected from children under 13. We rely on your Organization to provide required notices and obtain any required parental consent for its use of the platform. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 outside an Organization's authorized use of the platform.

Payments

Payments are processed through your Organization's own Stripe account. Card details go directly from your browser to Stripe and never touch our servers. We store only Stripe references (such as a customer ID and the last four digits of a card) to match payments to invoices. Refunds, disputes, and tax reporting are handled by your Organization, not by us.

Your rights

You can review and update your account information from your profile at any time. For a copy of your family's records, corrections, or deletion, contact your Organization first — it controls those records and decides what it must keep. For platform-side requests, email legal@homeschoolplatform.com. We respond within the time required by applicable law.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident affects your family's information, we will notify your Organization as described in our Data Processing Addendum, and your Organization is responsible for notifying you.

How long data is kept

While your Organization uses the platform, its records — including finalized archives such as transcripts and evaluations — stay available.

If your Organization leaves the platform, it may request an export of its records for 30 calendar days after its paid subscription ends. After that, Homeschool Platform has no obligation to keep your family's records, and they may be deleted. Records left on the platform after an Organization leaves are no longer updated and are not the Organization's official records.

Keep your own copies. Each finalized archive is emailed to your family when it is finalized, and you can download your archives from your Archives page while your Organization uses the platform. Homeschool Platform is not a long-term records custodian: state laws that require records to be kept for years apply to your Organization, which is responsible for keeping them.

If we discontinue the platform

If Homeschool Platform discontinues the service entirely, we will notify Organizations at least 60 days in advance, unless circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent it. Organizations may request exports during that notice period and for 30 days after where reasonably practicable. Archives already emailed to your family remain yours.

If the business is transferred

If Homeschool Platform is acquired, merges, or sells its assets, Organizations agree that their records, including family and student data, may transfer to the successor. The successor must honor privacy protections at least as strong as our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum, and we will notify affected Organizations.

Changes to this page

We may update this page to match changes in our published policies. The version and date at the top show which version you are reading.

Jurisdiction

The platform is provided to private homeschool organizations and their families in the United States. We do not serve organizations affiliated with public school districts.
